A New Way of Life
A New Way of Life was created in 1998 by women who fought to overcome the cycle of addiction, alcoholism, and incarceration.

Action Committee for Women In Prison
Our mission is to advocate for the humane and compassionate treatment of all incarcerated women everywhere. We work for the release of all women who pose no danger to society, including those who are unjustly imprisoned. We strive to eliminate the over-reliance on incarceration, and to develop sane and sensible alternatives to imprisonment.

This report describes violations of the internationally guaranteed human rights of women incarcerated in the United States.

California Coalition for Battered Women in Prison (CCBWP)
A statewide grassroots coalition of activists, attorneys, therapists, students, community members, and other dedicated individuals throughout CA who strive to end the re-victimization of battered women in prison.

Chicago Legal Advocacy for Incarcerated Mothers
Chicago Legal Advocacy for Incarcerated Mothers provides legal and educational services to help imprisoned mothers preserve their families.

Free Battered Women (FBW), formerly known as the California Coalition for Battered Women in Prison (CCBWP)
A statewide grassroots coalition of currently and formerly incarcerated women, their families, activists, attorneys, students, community members, and other dedicated individuals throughout the state who strive to end the re-victimization of battered women in prison.

Legal Services for Prisoners With Children
LSPC advocates for the human rights and empowerment of incarcerated parents, children, family members and people at risk for incarceration. We respond to requests for information, trainings, technical assistance, litigation, community activism and the development of more advocates. Our focus is on women prisoners and their families, and we emphasize that issues of race are central to any discussion of incarceration.

Information about crime, courts, sentencing, criminal justice policy analysis, punishment, alternatives.

Women's Prison Association and Home, Inc.
A nonprofit agency working to create opportunities for change in the lives of women prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families.
